Lessons

We teach everything from basic to advanced skills for beginner, competitive, and adult skaters. Sign-up for lessons through our mobile app.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are available to skaters of all ages and all levels. No experience needed. We have coaches that cater to a variety of skating needs, including beginners learning to ice skate, hockey skaters wanting to improve their edge quality and speed, advanced skaters learning freestyle skills, and competitive skaters developing and polishing their jumping techniques and figure skating routines. We also teach adults who want to learn ice skating for the first time or who are getting back into the sport for fitness. Private lessons take place at multiple ice rinks throughout Chicago area.

Group Classes

Spend one or two hours on ice with multiple coaches who will work with you to improve and master your skating skills. Group classes are suitable for children starting at age 5, and are offered on Saturdays in three different sessions throughout the year (Fall, Winter, Spring). Once signed-up for a particular session, skaters are expected to attend all weekly classes for that session.

Adult and hockey skaters are more than welcome to book private and semi-private lessons since we currently do not offer group classes for those skaters.

Summer Camp, 2023

Monday thru Friday, 1 or 2 weeks, July 31 – August 11, 8:15am – 1:00pm.

Our summer skating camp provides an opportunity for children aged 5 and up to enhance their mastery of skating skills through on-ice and off-ice training. Beginner and intermediate skaters work on technical skills to advance to higher skating levels, while competitive skaters spend time working on their routines and technical skills. Brand new beginner skaters are welcomed.

While we train hard during summer camp, we also make sure that our young skaters are having fun as they gain confidence and build friendships.

On the last day of summer camp, skaters are invited to participate in a skating exhibition as parents/guardians watch from the bleachers (bring your cameras!). Afterwards, we celebrate with a bowling and pizza party at Diversey River Bowl.

Daily schedule:

8:15am – 8:45am: warm-up at Johnny’s IceHouse East.

9:00am – 11:00am: on-ice training at Johnny’s IceHouse East.

11:00am – 1:00pm: off-ice training at Skinner Park on Monroe St.

Virtual Off-Ice Classes

Figure Skating require strength in every part of the body. Strong legs for jumping and landing. Strong arms for balance. And most important strong body core. Off ice exercises help skaters with balance, coordination, strength and skill training. Virtual off-ice conditioning classes take place on request. Please email to schedule a class.
